Sweet Little Things: an Angel in digsuise
I boarded the bus ytd to go for work and realise I forgot to top up my card. Panicking, I asked around to ask for small change using the smallest note I have on me- 5 dollar note. I asked around and none of the peeps have enough small change for me. Thats when this smiling old man willingly offered me a dollar coin and 2 two dollar notes. He did it without me approaching him. He saw that I was struggling and came to a stranger's rescue without hesitating. Though this maybe be just a small gesture, or even a trivial, everyday event to some, I found myself to be really touched. Its all these small beautiful social graces from total strangers that perk me up when I feel really disappointed with some ugly and selfish behaviours put up by some Singaporeans, like those demanding parents who make unnecessary trips down to tuition centres to request for illogical demands. This song is dedicated to the kind old man I met on the bus and to peeps out there who still believe in a happy, harmonious world where people help each other regardless of how ell they know them, as opposed to a dog-eat-dog world full of self-gratifying, unscrupulous imbeciles. This is Corrinne May's Angel In Disguise for you: :)
I woke up this morning feeling kind of blue |
